Deluxe Jumbo Cardboard Blocks
These sturdy blocks can be stacked high for endless combinations. This 40-piece set takes the blah out of blocks, especially for kids who create best with lots of pieces, lots of color, and lots of space. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children build large, life-size structures. Kids will find plenty of ways to construct forts, bridges, walls, chairs, and more with the easy to assemble pieces. Three different size blocks offer a strong building foundation as well as a starting point for kids to conceptualize math (one large red block is the same size as two medium blue blocks or four small yellow blocks, adding blocks, counting blocks, etc.). The blocks also help develop large motor skills and teamwork. Made from heavy grade cardboard, these blocks are lightweight enough for small architects to lift and connect, but strong enough to support those same builders standing or sitting on them. Kids with a knack for construction and creative play will be enraptured by these bright red, yellow, and blue blocks for hours. The 40-piece set is made up of eight large red blocks (12" x 6" x 3"), eight medium blue blocks (6" x 6" x 3"), and 24 small yellow blocks (6" x 3" x 3"). more

A special kinda h*ll
There's a special kinda h*ll that fathers enter when their wives purchase this toy. This state lasts between one and five hours, depending on a father's digital dexterity and ability to follow instructions (and previous experience with Ikea furniture and/or Cuban sweatshops). Still, when the last...

Self promotion on each block is ridiculous and detracts from item
On each block a 3" long and 1 1/2" tall section of the brick-like design is disrupted by a the following advertisement."Comments? [...]Mellisa & Doug"This is way over the top and frankly visually obtrusive. I hope others don't purchase this item because of this intrusive advertising.PS. It...

A Year Later: 1 Block Crushed; 39 Used Daily
I purchased these blocks for my 2 and 4 year old kids 12 months ago. In addition to their intended use as building material, the blocks are used daily as missiles, step stools, and hammers. All of the blocks are battle scarred, but only 1 has been destroyed (and it required getting run over by...

A good purchase!
My grandkids, just 3 and under 2, love these big blocks. They're a nice change from wood blocks. They're easy and fun to stack, and this set has enough to keep them busy. For serious building I'd buy another set. The kids throw them and knock them down, but the blocks are amazingly durable. A...

Sturdy and FUN! Perfect for your toddler.
I was searching for some of these large, cardboard blocks for my 20-month-old. I chose the Melissa & Doug because I have been impressed with their other toys. These blocks are VERY sturdy. You wouldn't think of cardboard blocks as being sturdy, but these definitely are. My 30 pound "little"...
