D-Link AirPlus G DWL-G700AP Wireless 54 Mbps Wireless access point
D-Link AirPlus G 802.11g Access Point - When using the Internet, you have the ability to freely roam websites with ease. However, accessing this vast network of information is still a wire-based affair. You must be at a fixed location, tethered to the wall, like a dog on a leash. But with 802.11 wireless technology, that connection has been severed, allowing you to wirelessly access both the Internet, and other computers wherever you choose. The 802.11g standard supported in this access point, offers up to 54Mbps of transfer speed for fast file transfers and better support of Streaming Video & other multimedia applications. Older 802.11b equipment is also supported for increased compatibility. Indoor Range - up to 328ft. (100 meters) Outdoor Range - up to 1,312ft. (400 meters) Detachable dual antennas with 2dB gain more

Use: To provide occasional wireless connectivity for laptops at home. Phone Support: Very poor because of all tech support people had heavy accents and they could not understand the (very simple) problem. Problem: When DWL-G700AP was connected to swi

Very limited usage
This product seems to function ONLY as a Wireless Access Point. That is to say, it can take your wired system to wireless. This can NOT act as a bridge, nor, I suspect a repeater. Caveat emptor!

Complex configuration, works afterwards
I have many D-LINK products (router, switches) and so went with this access point. D-Link products have been straightforward to configure and use, but not this one.I did not want to change the addresses on the hardwired network at home so I hooked this access point up to a laptop directly, just a...

My office is about 1000 sq. ft. and hard wired with a D-Link EBR 2310 4 port router plus 2 D-Link DSS-5+ 4 port switching hubs. I purchased this wireless access point so our reps can upload reports from their laptops without hooking up to a cat5 cabl

Works better than their 802.11g Wireless Repeater
We had been using the D-Link Wireless Repeater in conjunction with the D-Link DI-524 Wireless Router. The router has always worked fine. The repeater would work for a few minutes, or maybe a few hours, or maybe all day. But then, inevitably, it would have to be power-cycled because the...

We purchased two of these for a production enviromrent, they would lock up every week and need a reboot. I dont recommend these and dlink has issued a end of service life on them as well.

This product is poorly designed, and DLINK Tech Support is TERRIBLE
First, I am not a novice in setting up networks at home. My home is completely wired and have generally never had trouble in the setup or operation of it. It is also all based on DLink products up until now (which is going to change). The fundamentally poor design is that this comes out of the...

Works as Advertised
This is a nice, simple WAP that works as advertised. The web-based set up was easy to implement. Good performance for a reasonable price.

Interesting Paperweight
If you can get it configured, it will work. Be prepared to spend hours (literally) getting this unit to work with anything other than default settings. If you check the various forums, you'll see posts about firmware problems, and configuration issues. I use other D-Link products, and they're...

Did not work out of the box.
I normally have had good luck with D-Link products.Unfortunatley...this did not work out of the box for me. I was on the line with D-Link for a while before they told me to "go back to the place where I purchased it from to get a refund or replacement". Talked to a friend at work who had the same...
