Allen Deluxe Swing Away Hitch Mount Bike Carrier - 4 Bikes

From: $346.95

Swing-away design offers easy access to lift-gate, without having to remove bicycles. Rigid control arms precisely guide the bicycles through a 90'arc as the rack is opened and closed, preventing unwanted collisions with your vehicle. Spring loaded Pop-Up Pins secure the rack in either an open or closed position. 4 primary components offer quick assembly. Weight is centered around receiver hitch for easy installation on your vehicle. Included strap eliminates lower bicycle movement. For 2 Hitches only.

This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

The 740RR (MSRP: $400) "swing-away" bike carrier permits access to the rear of a vehicle without first dismounting the rack or its load of bikes, a convenience that you'll wonder how you ever got along without. The 740RR folding design is unique...

From: Amazon Posted: Jul 09, 2007 Type: User Review A good rack for the physically able

We bought this type of swing out rack for easier access to the rear hatch of our SUV. Once attached the rack works very well, although we have not used it yet fully loaded with 4 bikes. We have only had this rack a few weeks so it has not been...

From: Amazon Posted: Jun 27, 2007 Type: User Review It's a Winner!

I am very happy with this bike rack. We have a van, and it swings away from the doors very nicely. Neither the rack or the bikes when loaded ever touch the van doors, so no scratches! The rack is very solid when mounted, and our bikes, when...

From: Amazon Posted: Jan 07, 2007 Type: User Review Excellent Rack! Great design & quality. Very heavy.

This is a great rack and the price is even greater. Super heavy duty construction. Easy to operate. Great design. The only negative thing is it's heavy because it's made from such heavy gauge steel. That's the only reason for 4 stars. If it was...

Starting with the good. The rack was very easy to assemble & is very sturdy. The rack will hold securely 4 different style of bikes if you alternate handlebars. It locks and unlocks easily with the push of a lever & twist of a heavy duty,...

Having owned another Allen hitch rack, I wanted to get one of their racks that would allow me to access the back of my SUV without having to remove my bicycles from the rack. Although took a little bit of assembly, once it was put together the...

From: Amazon Posted: Nov 06, 2006 Type: User Review unhappy with purchase - Allen bike rack

Once the bikes were on the rack, it didn't close easily. Also the item came rusty and got further rusted in the first rainstorm. I wouldn't recommend this for the difference in price the Yakima or Thule are much better.

From: Amazon Posted: Jan 31, 2006 Type: User Review Great Rack

I just took my out of the box and installed it. It is fantastic. The swing out works great. The arms seem to be a little wide which requires some ingenuity to place my kids bikes on the rack.
