Spalding Never Flat Official Size Basketball

Spalding's Never Flat basketball is the first-ever ball with proprietary pressure retention technologies guaranteed to hold air up to 10 times longer than traditional basketballs. Traditional basketballs lose air on a consistent basis, resulting in a ball that falls out of official game ball specification within a few months. Spalding's Never Flat ball utilizes exclusive full-ball construction technologies to dramatically increase pressure retention. New membrane technology tightens the natural pores in the bladder to improve pressure retention. This exclusive technology is specifically designed to repel the air mixture molecules.. A new membrane and NitroFlate air technology virtually eliminates air's ability to escape. This new membrane technology tightens the natural pores in the ball's bladder to improve pressure retention. In addition, proprietary NitroFlate molecules are injected into the ball, forming a protective barrier against air seepage. It also features a redesigned valve with cap to eliminate leaks and keep dirt out. This official-sized ball provides consistent NBA Game Ball bounce height for at least one year. It's made from high-performance composite leather, which provides leather-like softness and superior grip. It just a PLUG, you CAN pump it up!

While the "neverflat" claim seems to be more marketing then anything, it is possible to put air in the ball! The plug that covers the air hole can be pulled out with a pliers! Put the needle in and pump it up, it's not rocket science, I just did this yesterday. You can even put the plug back...

The ball says NEVER FLAT.

I am aware that the guarantee is for a year, however I am overseas in the very tropical Okinawa, Japan and this ball didn't last me a month. The weather here is very humid and very hot, the ball began leaking by the second week and by the end of the month it was unusable. Sending it in to get...

Best Basketball

I played basketball almost everyday outside with this ball for 2 years before it started becoming a little flat. Yes, you can inflate it. Remove the little plug and pump it up like any other basketball. This is the best basketball I've ever had in my life, and I'm very picky about what kind of...

Went Flat in a Week

Ours went flat within a week of getting it, apparently from a nail hole. I believe a neighborhood prankster took the label "Never Flat" as a challenge. Regardless of that, if it is advertised as "Never Flat," I believe it should be able to withstand a puncture and still hold air. It might be...

Other Reviewers are Misinformed

Contrary to what the previous three reviewers have stated you CAN add air to this ball. The ball is guaranteed to stay at the proper pressure for one year. If it leaks during that period return it for a new ball. After a year it may leak like any other ball. Yes there is a cap over the air...

Where's the airhole?

We've all seen the commercial. Featuring an animation demonstrating its "Never-Flat" technology and an appearance by NBA superstar Paul Pierce, this basketball seems legitimate. It's not. There is no airhole. I made a poor decision by buying this basketball before looking for an airhole and I'm...

Steer FAR Away From This Product

Spalding has - with this poorly designed basketball - stooped to an all-time low rung in ineptness of forethought. The air valve is sealed, making it impossible to add air into or to release air out of the ball. And yet ironically (or rather, MORONICALLY), "inflate 7 to 9 lbs." is actually...

This is a gimmick

I got this ball as a gift and didn't realize that you can't add air by design. What if you don't like the pressure out of the box and want to add air? Too bad you are SOL. I tried to add some air to make it bounce higher and the valve went into the ball and the ball deflated. Now I have a...
