At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.

This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

I have been looking for a compact hi-fi system for some time now. I purchased and returned a number of them. I must say that I found it, this is it. Beautiful sound just what I am looking for. Thumbs up for Yamaha for developing such a superb system.

From: Amazon Posted: Mar 28, 2008 Type: User Review HOTTEST MINI STEREO

I'VE PUT THESE LITTLE SPEAKERS ON TOP OF MY OLD SPEAKER TOWERS AND YOU WOULD SWEAR THE SOUND IS COMING FROM THE BIG TOWERS. I CAN'T TURN THE VOLUME UP TO 50% WITHOUT GOING OUT IN THE YARD. IT'S INCREDIBLE.

From: Amazon Posted: Dec 21, 2007 Type: User Review Great "small" system

This is a great small system! Very nice looks, superb sound (especialy when you add a sub-woofer), accepts a fair number of inputs (including ipod, with an optional adapter). The system can play LOUD with minimal distortion for its size (if that's...

From: Amazon Posted: Nov 28, 2007 Type: User Review I LOVE THIS SYSTEM

-- The sound is superb. My jaws pretty much dropped when I first heard this, and I still find myself stunned sometimes (and I've had this system for several months at this point).

-- DVDs look great. I have this hooked up to a 20"...

From: Amazon Posted: Nov 03, 2007 Type: User Review Yamaha MCR-E810SL

I build and design my own amps and speakers and have been exposed to many state of the art systems since 1980 and live recording since 1988. The trick is matching the various gain stages with the load (speaker) and the room. Yamaha can't control...

From: Amazon Posted: Sep 01, 2007 Type: User Review WOW!

This is just a wonderful compact system. The key here is pretty much the excellent speakers Yamaha has been making for years. Their NS-10's have been a fixture in recording studios for mixing and these smaller speakers have the same clear, true...

From: Amazon Posted: Aug 02, 2007 Type: User Review Incredible Sound In A Small Package

Often times, a mini system sounds surprisingly good at first then reveals its true identity: a mediocre audio system after all. The reason, I guess, is that we tend to lower our expectations for the performance when a system comes in a small...

From: Amazon Posted: Dec 27, 2006 Type: User Review Good ear for music and eye for quality

I tried 2 Onkyo's and a Denin (rated as the top micro?) before I ran across this Yamaha. It took just a few minutes for me to get excited about this Yamaha. I believe it to be the best among the four, although all three of the others are...

From: B&H Photo Video Posted: Dec 26, 2006 Type: User Review Maybe Best Micro of all

Yes, this Yamaha 810 may be the best micro out there. I have tried 2 Onkyo's and a Denin (this Denin is reputed to be the leader among micros). But neither of the Onkyo's or the Denin impressed me enough to buy. The lesser of the two Onkyo's w

From: Amazon Posted: Nov 24, 2006 Type: User Review Love It!

Like other Yamaha audio equipment we have bought, this system provides outstanding sound quality. The small form factor and elegant looking design made it a great choice for our living room. The speakers are small enough to be put on a bookshelf...
