This is a great receiver, period. I almost bought the lowest end ES model, but decided to go with the STR 1100. Sony has been getting an unfair bad rap on many of these review boards. I think these people are comparing the 2-3 entry level...

Awesome Value (Features vs Cost)
I needed to upgrade my old A/V Receiver (also a Sony) to something that supported HDMI In/Out. I couldn't be happier with the DG1100. There are more features in this box than I will ever need... but a true audiophile would appreciate them....
