RX-V1800 7.1 Channel Home Theater Receiver
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Awesome receiver
I have this unit six months. It was a replacement for an RX-V992 I had for eleven years. The replacement was due to technology as the RX-V992 was still operating well. This receiver has met all of my expectations and then some. Music lovers will...

Rip Off
The rxv-1800 has a problem decoding DTS Master HD which produces a loud pop noise on various blue ray movies. Yamaha customer service is as clueless as the man on the moon about their patch to fix the problem and their stock response is " send it...

Couldn't be happier
I replaced a 9 year old Pioneer Elite receiver with the Yamaha. Setup was very easy. The manual is a bit challenging but you have to remember it does a lot; it's a good balance between a manual written for a novice and a guru.

Not for weak of heart
I was forced to upgrade to the Yamaha RXV 1800 earlier than planned as my older Yamaha model gave up the ghost. I was very pleased with the previous model which I had for over 10 years. This past November I had acquired the Samsung 52 LNTF and the...

Great hi-fi but not high-end product. Overall a good value for the dollars.
I want a THX-certified receiver and finally landed on this one after some serious research. This is a receiver that comes with loaded features that will meet all your needs from a receiver and should cover what's coming up for quite a few years. I...

THIS IS ONE GREAT RECEIVER
With 4 HDMI inputs, sound decoding for DTS Master Audio and Dolby True HD, and an amazing amount of extras, plus a menu that allows you to adjust most everything, this is the best receiver I have ever owned. It also upconverts anything to 1080p,...

Better than Onkyo TXSR875!
I just replaced an Onkyo TXSR875 with the Yamaha RX-V1800BL. Right out of the box hookup was a breeze and it recognized ALL my speakers with the auto setup. I am very pleased with this system and will recommend it to all! Amazon got it to me in...

Currently one of the best bang for the buck units on the market
I bought this receiver a few weeks ago after purchasing a new Blu-Ray player and realizing I was out of HDMI connections on my television.

HDMI output doesn't work!!!!!
So I just bought a Samsung 4071 LCD and wanted to get a nice receiver to go with it. All of the research suggested that the RX-V1800 would be a great choice. Like the TV, it is HDMI 1.3 compatible and it has 4 HDMI ins and 1 out. However, as...
