Onkyo NetTune NC-500 Radio / network audio player
At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

"useless piece of rubbish"

"Needs Custom Internet Radio Support"
PROS: * Sounds good * Reliable connection to PC * Has built-in amplifier suitable for a bookshelf system * Don't need a TV
CONS: * Shoddy software, playlist creation terrible * Only supports the internet radio stations it ships with, can't enter new ones * Can only display 999 items in a list; if you have 1500 different artists you can't browse to the last 501.

"The NetTune protocal allows for very few stations"

CONS: If you are happy with the very few stations that the NetTune protocal allows for, then you are in luck. I could not find any of the 10 or so internet radio stations that NetTune connected to. I even went to the extent of calling the software people in Eng

"Good product, but net-tune software running on PC could stand some..."
The receiver itself is great. Sounds great and is easy to use. There are several problems with the net-tune software that runs on the PC. The european character set causes a lot of "no artist" and "no albumn" entries. Download a good mp3 tag...
