What I Needed

This is just what I needed for a course I'm teaching. Lots of information in a compact form. Sometimes too compact, I need a magnifying glass for some maps, but it does the job.

I hoped for better

Roughly half the space in this atlas is devoted to domestic USA maps. In purchasing the "World Atlas" I was looking for much more detail of the foreign nations than is provided here in the space allocated. Many cities and towns in the Middle East, for example, are not even identified.

Great maps of the U.S.

This reference not only has an excellent 2 page spread of the continental United States but also has expanded detail of the eastern, central, and western states. The rest of the world maps are good but not as crisply done as in Merriam Webster's Notebook Atlas, a good companion to this volume....

Best I've found for BASIC student info....

As a public librarian I deal often with students, K-12, who are looking for basic simple maps to draw and otherwise use for reports. This book is the simplest and most straight forward that I've found. There is a 2 page spread of the continental United States that has been copied more times...
