Hooked On R&B
Peter Criss is an album that was full of surprises upon it's release in 1978. Expecting to hear rock gems in the style of "Hooligan" and "Baby Driver" sprinkled with one or two "Beth" type ballads, KISS fans were shocked to hear a bluesy Motown album! It has since been revealed that Peter Criss...

Cat Scratch Fever
In September 1978 each member of KISS simultaneously released a solo album with a promotional push to possibly vault each into the coveted multi-platinum sales status. The least successful on the charts was this album by drummer Peter Criss, which only reached #43 on the Billboard album chart,...

Good "Solo" Album
Of the bunch, this is probably my favorite. They are all good, but just something about Peter. The voice, the songs. Awesome!!

no good
Don't be a completist and feel you need to have all 4 of the Kiss solo albums. Peter Criss' is horrible. Kind of lounge music meets sappy ballads and all poorly done. Sounds nothing like Kiss or anything that should be associated with any of the band members. Gene, Ace, and Paul are all good....

Catman howls...........
The Catman really howled on his soloeffort. I loved it from the first timeI bought it in 78' and thought it wasone of the best. So different than theother members that it showed he didn'tget to showcase his songwriting and singing enough in KISS and now I canunderstand his frustration but...

Peter's Influences Really Shows
Not a bad album. You can definitly hear thye big band influence with all the soulful songs on here. His downfall is that he included too many ballads. everyone likes a ballad but they get boring if there are more than 2 on any given album.

Not the Catman's Full Potential
Peter Criss put this together at a tumultuous time in his life. His relationship with the other members of Kiss was rapidly falling apart, his marriage on the rocks, and to boot he was recovering from a serious automobile accident. So, the fact that this album isn't up to par with his true...

The Cat Scratches Out a Cool Record...
Some people think this record is less than purrrrfect...sorry I couldn't resist. And stacking this up against the other Kiss records from the 70's it has mighty strong company. But with an open mind - it's pretty good. I just wish there were less horns and more guitars. "I'm Gonna Love You" is...

You had to be there...
These songs don't hold up really well today, but it was a great year for KISS fans. Peter's first record--along with the other three KISS solo albums released simultaneously in 1978--was great fun when it first came out. We were basking in ALIVE II and DOUBLE PLATINUM then, so the solo lps were a...
