Just Another Great Hit By the Scorpions

Yet another solid hit by the Scorpions, pretty much the leading hard rock band along with Def Leppard to come out of the 70s and 80s (as opposed to metal proper such as Priest and Maiden). Just great classics on this album as well with brilliant musicianship and great lead guitar work by Mathias...

Classic scorps with bonus

a classic Scorpions album with the bonus addition of Rudalphs Fantabulous guitar brother Mike. A good extra guitar to replace Uli. This album is a must have for scorp fans.

Not The Commercial Rubbish

I agree with the reviewers that give this 5 stars. The thing I really like about the CD/album is that it is down to earth hard rock. If you are a "Rock Me Like A Hurricane" fan, this CD is not for you. There is not one bad song on this one. I love "Is There Anybody There?" As a matter of...

Gulp, origins of hair-metal!

There is a reason hair-metal came to be and this one of the main ones. It's both a blessing and a curse. This album and it's immediate follow-ups were so good that it couldn't be stopped. Other bands liked it and began to imitate it, soon it became mainstream and every one was doing it...just...

The Perfect Sting

Scorpions take a giant step forward on this album. Some sources say brilliant, yet eclectic guitarist Uli Jon Roth was already on his way out due to "creative differences", others say the band released him following "Taken By Force". Whatever the case, Scorpions hired relative unknown prodigy...

This album turned me into a fan

A San Diego cover band in 1980 introduced me to Lovedrive and Loving You Sunday morning. I've been a fan ever since, and bought earlier releases. I didn't hear the Scorps on LA radio until Blackout was released several years later. When I raved about the Scorps, people looked at me like I was...

German heavy metal at its finest.

Lovedrive is tied with Blackout for being the Scorpions' best album. There's a bit of experimentation in some songs but they actually work out well. For instance, "Is There Anybody There" is set to a slow reggae beat and "Another Piece of Meat" has a hint of synthesizer (I assume) in the...

Another Piece Of Rock!

Lovedrive came out in 1979 and it was the first album for guitarist Mathias Jabs, after virtuoso Uli Jon Roth left the band. Michael Schenker, ex-UFO and the Scorpions original guitarist featured on their debut Lonesome Crow, was asked to re-join but he eventually decided to go solo. Apparently...

Lovedrive or Sexdrive?

I discovered this masterpiece by accident when a friend left his cassette at my place for a few days some 25 years ago and I haven't stopped being awed since. The first song I heard from it was "Can't Get Enough" and I can't.Any album that has both Michael and Matthias is automatically great! I...

Can't get enough!

This recording is great with the new remastered version. Never owned the old one, but I am very happy with the sound quality. It's not harsh or tinny like most modern recordings.
