PROS: It monitors in the background, updates frequently and finds most threats. It may not be perfect, but only a weenee would suggest that antivirus software has no value.
CONS: doesn't always get everything, particularly USB viruses.

PROS: Very, Very light in resourse. I have tried most of the new antivirus programs and to my suprise norton has been by far the lightest on system rescourse. Very much improved over past norton products.
CONS: None that i can see so far. Works great!

I, too, upgraded to 2009 and now my computer constantly locks up. I have disabled Norton permanently until I can (hopefully) get back to Norton 2008. Very disappointed.

PROS: I and other users in my household have been loyal Norton AntiVirus users for a number of years. Norton offered a free online upgrade to NAV 2009 from NAV 2008. Norton also offered free tech support via online chat.
CONS: When installed on two older Dell computers, both with Windows XP, NAV 2009 crashed the computers, causing them to lock up at the Windows desktop such that no applications software would load or run.
