Appetite for Destruction
Limited edition Japanese pressing. This is a glimpse of the future--and not because of its huge influence and umpteen million sales. The poor-little-rich-boy protest 'Out Ta Get Me' intimates that Axl Rose's egotism and martyr complex were soon to grow bigger than his head; still, Appetite's night-train wreck of punk and metal sounds and sensibilities make it more than just an emblem of its time. Whether G'N'R are dancing with 'Mr. Brownstone', penning a callow kiss-off letter to some chick named 'Michelle', or passing out on somebody else's sofa, this was and remains a savage journey to the heart of the American--or at least the Hollywood--dream. 12 total tracks. Geffen. 2005. more

About "Chinese Democracy"
Slash is my guitar hero of all time. Unexpectedly Buckethead is just as great as he is, or even better. Try one of Buckethead's albums, you will fall in love with and finally get addicted to his underestimated talent. Buckethead can play any style as well as guitar god Jeff Beck. "Chinese...

Appetite for Destruction..........Oh NO, NO, NO.............
A bad message for our youngsters. We shouldn't support music with negative themes such as this. What about some good old-fashioned music like the following:1. Appetite for Education2. Feel My Bookbag3. Hot for Education4. Welcome to the Library5. I Just Wanna Study6. Mother, I Cherish...

A great purchase when compared to a CD or MP3 download
I purchased this LP even though I own the digital version via iTunes. This LP certainly does sound different. It sounds, as most people would describe, warmer than the digital version. It's also a lot more fun to play since it takes manual work to enjoy. The LP has excellent information on...

One of the best rock albums ever
No reason to give anyone an actual review here. Just go out and listen to the album. Every song is classic; and most of all pure rock-n-roll. If you can come up with a better debut album from any "hard rock" band, please let me know. In the meantime, just listen to this mammoth accomplishment....

One of the greatest debuts in rock history....still potent today...
This is one of the greatest debut albums in the history of rock and roll, and 20 years or so after it was released, it's still one of the greatest albums ever. Despite Guns n Roses being a metal band from the late 1980's, they transcend genre and make lasting music. None of their albums have...

Can a band be HoF material based on 1 album?
In a few more years, this may be a legitimate debate, as GNR becomes eligible for the RnR Hall of Fame. And though the band put out about four more albums (Lies, Use Your Illusion I and II, Spaghetti Incident), this is the definitive piece of work for this band. And with good reason! Unlike most...

Give Credit Where Credit Is Due!
C'mon without Tracii Guns this album would have never been possible..."Sound never repeated" Get an L.A. Guns C.D. Moron! Why doesn't anyone wonder why Axl was never able to duplicate this success, and why he always relied on cover tunes? BECAUSE TRACII WASN'T THERE TO WRITE THE...
