At Smarter.com, we aim to ensure we give you the most sound buying advice possible. With our 'Cumulative Product Rating' system, in order for a product to receive a rating score, it must have a minimum number of ratings to qualify.
This system is not intended to diminish the value of products with a low number of ratings and reviews, they're great, and hopefully very helpful, but if you want our advice, we want to make sure that the product you're thinking of buying has been rated and reviewed by enough shoppers like you to be a valuable indicator of product quality.

Great student camera
I've had this camera for 5 years now. It really takes pictures and I've won lots of awards for pictures I've taken with it. I eventually upgraded to an FM-2 (which was about the same price, less the lens) which didn't have too many new features, bu

Good Camera, Bad Manufacturing
The camera works great, except for the fact that the negatives were exposed to light due to a sun leak. The camera, by the way, is less than two weeks old.

Good pics!
If you are taking photography class in school I recommend not to use this camera for black & white projects. I had a difficult time trying to produce a decent b/w pic. Color photos are fine. Overall, I thought it was a good product for its price.

FM 10, my first camera. A beginner must!
Camera is amazing for exploring the ability of SLRs since everything about it calls for manual operation. Most affordable camera. Multiple exposures may not always be in a single frame (may overlap). Not the best camera for fast action...
PROS: gives you full controll over light and focus of the exposure
CONS: needs more time to be manually focused

good camera
I purchased my Nikon FM10 about 2 months ago. It's a really nice camera and totally manual. None of that auto crap, you're completely in control. The only downside is you have to buy a flash for it if you want one, batteries, filters, etc.
PROS: Good starter or professional camera. Easy to use.
CONS: really non that i have discovered.

reliable
This camera is reliable and you see is what you get. Although I don't use the camera for special effects, it is perfect for shooting people, places and things in most situations and as they say: You have total control.
